EBay Auction Manager
Channel Velocity, Inc. (http://www.channelvelocity.com) is seeking to hire an eBay Auction Manager to manage the entire listing process for our eBay auctions. We are a young, growing firm that auctions a variety of consumer electronics, appliances, pet supplies, and power tools for multiple OEMs through auctions, client-branded stores and through Deal-Monger, our online clearance store (http://www.dealmonger.com).
A 1-2 year background in merchandising, marketing or sales support is ideal for this position. One of our firm's core competencies is high volume consumer sales and product fulfillment, so some exposure to operations and/or marketing is helpful.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Digital product photography, including uploading and archiving.
- Writing clear, concise product descriptions.
- Product research via the web and OEM documentation.
- Coordinating the workflow process between inbound shipping and auction-ready products.
- Sourcing high performing products from current OEM clients. Constant improvement of the auction process through merchandising, listing, support, and fulfillment.
Also, the successful candidate will:
- Be fluent in MS Office and digital photography.
- Be familiar with the eBay user experience (as either a buyer or seller).
- Have impeccable grammar and spelling.
- Be comfortable working independently in a deadline sensitive environment, but be willing to ask for help when necessary.
- Be comfortable in an environment that shares knowledge and learning.
- Be unimpressed by a slick office and Herman Miller chairs, because we don't have either of those.
- Be able to have fun, make jokes and be creative.
One or more qualities we would really like, but do not require:
- A Bachelors Degree
- eBay Power Seller status (Big Plus)
- E-commerce experience
- Consumer-oriented fulfillment experience
Given our growth curve, this description only scratches the surface of our need for trained, experienced management. We will strongly encourage you, through begging and pleading, to figure out how to lever this position to fill key gaps in our company.
This full-time position is located in Chicago. The selected candidate may be required to make periodic trips to Atlanta to become acquainted with CV's logistics operation.
