Software Tester / Developer

Channel Velocity is seeking to hire a Software Test Developer to join our Channel Management System team. We are a young, growing firm that auctions a variety of consumer electronics, appliances, power tools and musical instruments for manufacturers and retailers through eBay auctions, Amazon, client-branded storefronts and other online channels. We service major brand name companies and are experiencing very rapid growth. We are currently preparing the technology as commercial software.

The Application is a first for the industry given it is a Windows Client Server Multi-Channel eCommerce System. It is meant for use by mid to large size auction and eCommerce Sellers performing $1+ million per year in transactions online. Formal testing is required as part of our effort to offer the technology as commercial software.

The applicant should be able to create and run an automated test environment against an in-house/commercial auction management system. Duties include creating test plans and procedures for coverage, stress and regression testing throughout the lifecycle of the application. A qualified candidate will also have the opportunity to work on parts of the application itself.

System testing includes UI, integration, database, performance and stress testing of products. Duties to include:

Make recommendations for a build/buy decision concerning the testing environment.
QA Dev: Create test environments for different subsystems.
Tester: Create and exercise manual and automated tests.
QA: Track test results and bugs for baseline and regression testing.
Provide experienced inputs for the User Documentation.
Build Mgmt: Verify and deploy upgrades of all systems.

3+ years of relevant testing experience and 1+ years of coding required. Background should include:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with creating automated test environments.
Understanding of functional and regression testing.
HTML coding & CSS.
VB.NET for ASP.NET.
JavaScript & VBScript.
IIS and general system Administration.
Winforms in .Net using C#.

Other useful skills:

eBay user experience (as either a buyer or seller).
Comfort in a deadline sensitive environment.
Comfortable asking for help when necessary.
Work independently but share knowledge and learning.
Have fun, make jokes (preferably ones that are funny), and be creative.

Candidate should possess excellent communication skills particularly technical writing skills. The position requires a high energy level and the ability to prioritize heavy volume workload and custom development.
