Sales Representative

Channel Velocity is seeking a Sales Account Representative for our Chicago, IL office. If you thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where your contributions will help shape a global online auction management industry, this could be the job you have been looking for. This position provides the possibility of promotion to Account Executive and managing your own sales team.

Channel Velocity provides online channel and auction management solutions. We provide auction management for major brand name companies like Philips, Dyson, Milwaukee Power Tools and Canon. As a result, we are among the worlds 100 largest eBay sellers. Simply put, we sell their products on eBay, Amazon and .com channels.

Channel Velocity leads this growing industry through superior services and technology for manufacturers, retailers and distributors. We increase their sales and reduce current issues associated with normal distribution and sales channels by extending their brand into eBay and elsewhere as a service provider. Channel Velocity is one of a very few eBay certified solutions providers and is recognized and well respected by many of their top executives.

Responsibilities
  • Execute outbound cold-calling campaigns targeted at CXX and VP Level executives, that are designed to acquire new prospects and drive profitable revenue growth
  • Influence customers and potential customers on the merits of doing business with Channel Velocity to generate consultative customer meetings
  • Research potential new clients and build target lists
  • Conduct sales presentations via the phone and in person
  • Maintain order information, phone, or other activity logs /reports
  • Meet monthly sales targets
  • Assist in prospecting clients at trade shows
  • Report to the National Director of Sales
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal communications with strong phone skills
  • Ability to be persuasive
  • Must be computer literate with MS Office products
  • Ability to resolve problems and find creative solutions
  • Work well with a team
  • A Bachelor degree with 1 year inside sales / prospecting experience
Also, the successful candidate should
  • Have a work hard / play hard attitude
  • Be open to sales trips to cities such as: Las Vegas, New York, Orlando and Los Angeles (10-20% travel)
Other Pluses
  • Any eCommerce experience
  • Familiarity with eBay as a seller
  • Tradeshow sales experience
  • Poses a sense of humor (hopefully a funny one) and be well versed in sitcoms, 80’s movies and/or other useless tidbits of trivia
